Where's the History?

 
I am a historian.  The website where I make available my historical research and writing can now be found at www.michaelcassity.org and I encourage you to visit that site.  You will quickly discover that my historical investigations are linked to my photography although not always in a direct and literal fashion.  You will see that both are efforts to make connections with other people and places in ways that give meaning to our lives today.  Think of it as touching the past, and being touched by the past, just as my photographs try to help us make contact with specific moments in nature and the world around us--and to be touched by them. 
 
In any case, my history site may provide a sense of context both for my various historical efforts and for my photographs too.
 
Where possible, I have made my writings freely available and have suggested paths for locating other works.
