Morning of the Moose
B1105

Grand Teton National Park

Picture

On a crisp autumn morning, as early sunlight warms the earth, a cow moose strides briskly along a stream toward the willows where she will browse for tender aquatic plants in preparation for the coming winter.  Although the long legs make the moose look gangly, those legs are capable of fast speeds in running and help the big ungulates navigate deep winter snow.
